Expo East Contest



1.      Death Wish Coffee Co. (“Death Wish Coffee”) invites you to submit photo and/or video content for a chance to win free coffee for a year and have your content used by Death Wish Coffee.  If you submit content to Death Wish Coffee in connection with this contest, you agree to be bound by these Contest Rules.

2.      Prizes

i.          Prize packages will be awarded to the top entries as follows.

ii.       1 randomly selected winner will receive a year of free coffee of their choosing:

a)      2 12-ounce, 14-ounce, or 1-lb bags of Death Wish Coffee of their choice every month, for 12 months; OR 

b)      30 Single-Serve Coffee Pods of Death Wish Coffee of their choice every month, for 12 months. 

c)       Choices of coffee are limited to everyday offerings: Medium Roast, Dark Roast, Espresso Roast and Valhalla Java.

3.      Photos or videos submitted must be in high resolution, and videos must be no longer than 30 seconds and saved as an .mp4.  Failure to follow these guidelines risks disqualification.

4.      Submissions will be accepted online beginning on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 12 AM EST.  You may enter as many times as you wish.  The deadline for entry is 11:59 pm EST on Saturday, October 1. All winners will be selected by Death Wish Coffee, as determined in Death Wish Coffee’s sole discretion. Winners will be notified by Friday, October 14, 2022 via Instagram.  Death Wish Coffee reserves the right, to be exercised in Death Wish Coffee’s sole discretion, to reject or disqualify any entries if Death Wish Coffee has reason to believe that they reflect efforts by anyone to unfairly or improperly manipulate the outcome of the contest.

5.      We do encourage you to consider the suitability of what you submit for use by Death Wish Coffee. Death Wish Coffee reserves the right, to be exercised in Death Wish Coffee’s sole discretion, to reject or disqualify any photo or video submitted.

6.      Eligibility: Entrants must be age 18 or older at the time of entry

7.      No Purchase Necessary to Enter or Win: You do not need to make a purchase to enter or win this contest. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning.

8.      Void Where Prohibited by Law

9.      Any disputes arising under these Contest Rules will be governed by the laws of the State of New York without reference to its conflict of laws provisions.  Any disputes arising under these Contest Rules must be brought exclusively in the courts located in New York, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

10.   The content you submit must be original to you, and not copied from someone or somewhere else.  No unauthorized use of any copyright images, text, or other material will be accepted.

11.   All entries must be submitted on Instagram. Submit by visiting our booth at Expo East, taking a photo or video with our mug display and then post on Instagram by tagging @deathwishcoffee and using the hashtag #DWCExpoEast in your post.

12.   Technical Difficulties/Support: Death Wish Coffee cannot be responsible for entries not received due to technical issues and accepts no responsibility for technical support of any entries.

13.   Guidelines & Judging Criteria

i)         Content should be appropriate for use by Death Wish Coffee.

ii)       Winners will be selected by an internal committee, in its sole and exclusive discretion

14.   Ownership of Artwork: To the extent permitted by law, all submissions of content to Death Wish Coffee consisting of copyrightable subject matter are "work made for hire" as defined in the Copyright Act of 1976 (17 U.S.C. § 101), and such copyrights are therefore owned by Death Wish Coffee. To the extent that the foregoing does not apply, by submitting your content to Death Wish Coffee, you hereby irrevocably assigns to Death Wish Coffee, and its successors and assigns, for no additional consideration, your entire right, title, and interest in and to all such artwork and intellectual property rights therein, including without limitation the right to sue, counterclaim, and recover for all past, present, and future infringement, misappropriation, or dilution thereof, and all rights corresponding thereto throughout the world. Nothing contained in these Contest Rules shall be construed to reduce or limit Death Wish Coffee’s right, title, or interest in any content or intellectual property rights so as to be less in any respect than Death Wish Coffee would have had in the absence of these Contest Rules.

15.   Authorize Rights to Death Wish Coffee: By submitting your photo and/or video, you authorize Death Wish Coffee to post your entry on our site and social media channels indefinitely, and grant Death Wish Coffee the right to use and display your design for marketing purposes through any or all of Death Wish Coffee’s marketing channels. This includes but is not limited to print publications, online, on social media, in advertising, and in emails.

16.   Your selection as a winner does not obligate Death Wish Coffee to use your content.

17.   Death Wish Coffee reserves the right, to be exercised in Death Wish Coffee’s sole discretion, to adjust contest rules without notifying contestants.

18.   Contest rules can be changed and updated without notice. Contest participants are responsible for checking the site for changes, and should review the rules prior to each submission.
